It is easily accessible from New Orleans by the Crescent City Connection Bridge via the West Bank Expressway or Lapalco Boulevard into downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter and via the Huey P. Long Bridge into Harahan and the rest of Jefferson Parish.

This neighborhood on the West Bank also leads west to lush fishing and boating bayous and swamps, and east and north to the connections of Highway 90 and I-10 toward the north shore and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is only about 20 to 30 minutes away, and rail and bus lines are also conveniently located throughout this region.

Marrero Home & Community Info

Marrero is known as a close-knit community where residents seem to know each other well. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the wonders of the 23,000-acre Barataria Preserve division of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park (preserved wetlands and bayous for walking on raised trails, canoeing and boating through the swamps that are filled with animals, plants and wildlife).
