Patty Cooper, who was born in Texas, moved to Slidell, LA when she was 11 years old. She lived in Slidell until 1996 and then accepted a job offer in Baton Rouge. She lived there until 2012 when she returned to St. Tammany Parish and settled in Lacombe. Patty has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Her son Travis and his family live in Lacombe. Her son Tobin lives in Slidell and her daughter Susan lives in Austin, TX.
Patty graduated from Slidell High School and attended Southeastern LA University (60 hr. in English Education) and later attended the University of New Orleans (30 hr. in Accounting). Most of her career was spent in purchasing and contract administration in the fields of manufacturing and industrial construction.
While in Baton Rouge, Patty bought and sold several properties and still has rental properties in Baton Rouge. During the course of this, she remodeled houses and became familiar with many of the real estate processes and procedures. She was able to call upon her knowledge of contract law and her experience negotiating contracts and writing change orders.
After returning to St. Tammany, Patty attended the Donaldson School of Real Estate, passed the state exam and joined Latter & Blum October 1, 2014 as a licensed agent where she became a REALTOR. Patty feels this is a natural fit and says "I should have obtained my real estate license years ago. Obtaining or changing a residence is an important juncture in anyone's life and I have a unique opportunity to be there to help. I love being a Realtor.." A REALTOR (registered trademark) is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS, which subscribes to a strict Code of Ethics. These codes include: Loyalty to clients; Fiduciary (legal) duty to clients; Cooperation with competitors, Truthfulness in statements and advertising; and non-interference in exclusive relationsships that other REALTORS have with their clients.
Although this is a second career for Patty, she plans to be involved for a long time, first in the residential aspect of real estate and then incorporating the commercial aspects. She says "I love living in St. Tammany Parish and especially in Lacombe. There is no other place like it. We have a very bright future."
