Our family home was built in Tchefuncta Estates in 1969 and we were fortunate enough to have been a part of a most unique and wonderful community. I first became licensed in real estate in 1983 while helping my mother, Marion Williams, a top producer with Latter & Blum and at the same time commuting to Southeastern Louisiana University. Graduating with a major in accounting and a minor in marketing, I was recruited before graduation by Ernst & Young, the largest accounting firm in the world. Some years later I branched out and formed my own accounting firm in Covington - Melissa W. Mysing, C.P.A., LLC with offices in Northpark in Covington. Always involved with real estate and experiencing the growth in St. Tammany parish, my 20+ year tax practice is a perfect compliment to my real estate transactions.
My sister, Meg Williams, also licensed with Latter & Blum have been working together in the Latter & Blum office for a number of years. My husband, Bill Mysing, a real estate attorney with over 30 years experience in real estate law and has his own Title Company, is also licensed with Latter & Blum. The 3 of us have pooled our resources and have formed a professional real estate group. Tax free exchanges, business valuations, investment properties with depreciation basis - all go hand in hand.
My passion is horses and my Husband and I recently sold our 60 acre horse farm and moved to Covington. We enjoyed rural living, hanging out and relaxing with our animals and trying our hand at growing vegatables and fruit trees. We still enjoy a weekend retreat simply to get away and let our dogs run and enjoy the natural beauty. After having shown horses over much of the southeast region I am still active in the local shows and I am proud to announce that my team, Mysing & Williams, are now sponsoring Tori Juengling riding my horse Gallagher!!!! They are having a blast together in their eventing endevor, sporting our logo - please go support her and cheer her on!
